We are a small community church located in the middle of the booming matropolis that is Holland, TX. Holland is located about 15 miles south of Temple, TX and has a population of just over 1,100 residents. Small as it may be Holland is the Population Center of Texas being at nearly equal distnaces from Dallas/Fort Worth, Houston and San Antonio.

We have an average attendance each Sunday of around 40 people. The service is led by our pastor Rev. Philip Shuler who really knows how to bring a message. Music is provided by pianist Kristen Zajicek and guitar and vocalist Brian Smith. We are so blessed to have this kind of talent in such a small church. A children's message is usually provided by Judy Gotcher, Mike Urbantke or Lay Leader Larry Norville (either way you cant go wrong with these faithful servants of the Lord). If you would like to dive deeper into the message and the word the adult Sunday School class meets after the service and is lead by Lay Leader Larry Norville. We also have a bible study that meets Wednesday nights at 6:30 PM to help feed your spirit and guide you during the week. On the last Sunday of each month we like to have a fellowship breakfast where everyone brings their favorite breakfast dish and meets in the Petrie fellowship hall 30 minutes before church. This is just a chance for us to enjoy each other's company and to help us to connect and to grow as a chruch family.

First United Methodist Church of Holland, TX also has a nondenominational Cowboy Church ministry which is held at Henry and Kathy Hegar's ranch just outside of Holland. This is a ministry which is open to all who wish to experience the Lord through gospel music and cowboy poetry in a very relaxed and down-to-earth setting. We try to hold one Cowboy Church service each month. For the women we have a very active UMW (United Methodist Women) group that meets once a month for lunch to discuss community/charity/volunteer programs. Being the close family that we are we even like to share recreational time with each other so once or twice a year we organize a church camp-out where everyone meets out at Belton lake with their tents, travel trailers and RVs for the weekend to enjoy some fresh air and fellowship. We've even held church services out at the lake that Sunday.

All-in-law we're a family oriented church who loves the Lord and we love to praise and worship him in many different ways. If this is what you're looking for we encourage to visit our church and become a part of our family.
